The Khukri is a chopping blade and has been used more like an axe in countries like Nepal, India and China for hundreds of years. The blade can used for slicing, hacking and chopping and it excels over other big blades when heavy work is needed. The weight forward design is ideal for delivering powerful downward blows. The ¼” thickness of the steel says it all here – a heavy knife with serious backbone that will be up to most any cutting task required.
The Khukri is the traditional knife of the Nepali people and the coveted blade of the Ghurkha Soldier. the actual blade design is said to be over 2500 years old and no blade has ever broken in battle. Created for BCX in Nepal – each blade is hand forged from reclaimed 5160 steel. The thicker blade edge can take hard hitting abuse and easily be brought back to the level of sharpness required to get the job done. The Work sheath is hand cut, oiled leather and designed to hold the blade securely.
The Work Khukri is a heavy hitting 10” that is designed for chopping with a thicker gauge handle.
